Obtaining an SIA Licence : Vehicle Immobilisers
To obtain the SIA qualification for vehicle immobilisers you will need to attend a two part training course and take and pass two exams. The course may be delivered over 5 days or during weekends and/or evening sessions.
If you already have some form of qualification in vehicle immobilisation or other parking enforcement related activities you may be exempt from Part 1 of the SIA approved training - contact Edexcel on 0870 240 9800 to discuss this.
It is important to ensure that training remains current. Therefore, qualifications allowing exemption from the SIA approved training must be no older than three years old, except where otherwise stated.
If you hold a qualification in security or a security-related discipline which was obtained overseas you may be exempt from part of the SIA approved training.
When you apply you will need to send:
- A photograph of yourself which has been counter-signed by a suitable person
- Documents confirming your identity and age: All documents should be in your current name (unless accompanied by a deed poll document that confirms a change of name or valid adoption certificate), at least one document must show your current address and at least one must show your date of birth.
- The relevant certificate number of your training certificate.
The SIA will undertake a criminal record check using the info you have provided.
